Hi guys,
For those who don’t know me I’m Alex, a forth year studying Computer Science here at Kent. I’m running for the position of Treasurer because I feel I am able to sort out the financial situation the society has been in since its revival two years ago. I have intimate knowledge with how the society works – in fact I served on the interim committee that prepared the revived the society and helped draft the constitution. I do care quite a bit about the society and endeavour as an Officer and hopefully Treasurer to make sure that the society is doing all it can be – and being able to provide funding simply, for events and services this year.
If elected the first thing I will do is getting our bank funds released ASAP and review the way we store our funds. Hopefully when looking at what other banks can also offer us with the officers decision we can move forward to make sure funds are easily accessible and prevent this situation from arising again in the future.
I also want to look at other ways of raising money and encourage using the membership fee to its full potential in providing events and socials that members want to see.
